A letter from San Diego, California Coach Grubb and Coach Mezzanotte, Hope this finds you well. I don't know if you remember me but I brought 2 of my boys out to camp a few years ago from San Diego. I want to send my 11 year old back next summer if the dates work out. I was just looking at your web site to see this year's dates and saw that you still have Justin's comments up in the "Campers Comments" section and I thought you might be interested to find out what your camp did for him. Justin went to Harford following his freshman year which was also the first year he had played lacrosse. He had always wanted to play football and with no youth lax programs (at the time) out here, he picked up a stick only once or twice a year. Once he committed to playing lax in December of his freshman year, he spent all of his time on the wall and did OK, but had all of the normal challenges for a first year player. He also still looked at lax as his second sport. That all changed at Harford. He was in Tim Lucky's group and just fell in love with the game and the people. He came back from camp with a dream to play Division I lacrosse and never looked back. He went on to set all kinds of records out here (over 250 points in three years after attending Harford), became a High School All-American, won Best Attack at other college camps on the East Coast, was recruited, and ultimately chose to accept an offer from the Army. They "redshirted" him last year at West Point Prep School where he was the leading scorer (over 70 points) and the team MVP. He will be playing for Army starting this year. I believe that Harford was a huge key to his success. He not only got great instruction, the atmosphere of the camp is what fueled his dream. I hope you have a great camp this year and hope to see you next year. Seth Bokmeyer Head Coach |
